Major project was due today (the printing of some brochures that have to be on a truck headed for a trade show in the morning). I begged and pleaded with my bosses to fix the printer last week so that I could start printing them (the brochures have been done for almost a month). Finally today, the day before they need to be on a truck, they get the dude in to fix it. When he fixes it no problem, everything is fine, well, and good, until they decide that the printer needs to be in my office upstairs instead of downstairs. So even though my boss told the IT people not to move the printer, they had the shop guys attempt to move it anyway. What happens? $2000 enormous Kyocera colour printer goes tumbling down the stairs, tearing up the walls all the way down! Now the printer is completely fucked up, so we're going to have to pay all the money to get it fixed plus we have to go on another Kinko's run to get the brochures done by in the morning. Thousands of dollars down the drain! I got screamed at because the printer was being moved, even though I told them NOT to move it.
And to top it off? An ad that was due today that I sent for approval last week still hasn't been approved. I get an e-mail basically stated that even though I did exactly what they wanted, they want something totally different now! The day it is due! Son of a whore! I'm tired of getting screamed at when other people are the ones making outrageous and brash decisions! ARGH!

That's horrible, Fender! O.O How can they blame you for something that you advised against? Hopefully whoever yelled at you will cool off after they get home and realize that they owe you an apology.

I got blamed cause it's "my" printer and it was for my project even though I told them to leave the damned printer where it was. What a bloody ridiculous day this has been.

Keep keeping records of all this fuckwittery. Secondly maybe consider implementing 'approval dates' and have them be at least three days before the 'due dates' for projects...you don't have to tell them they're not the same date if they're not the sort who are inclinded to check.

Also, make sure the higher ups know that this wasn't your fault and call the arses out on their mistakes (in such a way that won't get you fired).

What's sad is that those are already in place. As far as the higher ups know, this was the second extension we were "given" by the publishing place even though this is the actual due date, but as you can see due dates get ignored. I get yelled at for bothering them to get things approved, and then I get yelled at for things having to be done at the last minute because no one would approve anything. Nothing ever gets done on time! They just will not allow it to happen!

I got cursed at and screamed at all day today and also got told that I could be have my pay docked to pay for the wall and the printer even though I had nothing to do with the move! It just irritates the piss out of me.

Do they have a human resources centre? Or person, or affiliated company? I'd say you need to file some 'complaints'. Or at least make them aware of the issues you're facing.

We have an HR person at our company, but she was pretty much on the blame-storming party that happened where it's everyone's fault besides the person who was told not to move the printer but did it anyway. Thanks for the advice about getting some notebooks to keep track of things! From an e-mail I received last night, I don't believe they'll be docking my pay, but they are docking the pay of someone who wasn't even involved in the situation, which is even more upsetting.

Thanks for suggesting keeping a record of the fuckwittery! I definitely think that I'll be keeping closer tabs on it from now on!

Oh shit and argh and all that crap... *HUGE HUG* *with chocolate covered James inside the hug*

SUCKAGE!! >.

Incidentally, if they try and dock your pay like you said, first DON'T LET THEM! Make sure they know that you explicitly asked, nay TOLD, them to leave it where it was. I know it's lucky to have a job now a days, but you can't let them screw you over like that. Nothing is worth having your good name and dignity smeared! Like I said, if there's a human resources outlet, make sure you inform them you're willing to use your rights against them if they try and carry through with this stupidity!

Go to a dollar store and get some notebooks, keep a 'blog' of each work day in detail. It'll be worth it in the long run. Date and time it specifically.

That's horrible :( *hugs*
You probably need to document everything that happened and make sure it is on the record with your boss and HR that way they cant say they didnt know your side. Those people are dumb as bricks and are really making me angry! If there's anything I could help with just let me know. My mom works in HR so she could give you some really good advice on how to handle this kind of crap.
