I should be working on a presentation for Monday, but instead PONIES.

I did an update for my Spike & William "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" illustration as an age progression...

And because I can't resist the baby pony design, I did one of Anne and Baby William...

Title: A Frilly Valentine.
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] fenderlove
Rating: Completely worksafe.
Notes: Just a little cartoon Valentine for Fred and Spike, my favourite couple-that-almost-was. They seem to be having a bit of a frolic while patrolling.

I couldn't resist making a little something for [livejournal.com profile] whichclothes's contest, so here's my little offering depicting Mini-Spike meeting the quartet of towelie demons. XD

Pet Society is having a Halloween art contest to design 3 new items for their game, either a producing tree, a flower, or a vegetable for the garden area. I decided to design a tree, so here's my artwork:

My Catrina Sugar Tree.

I went with a Day of the Dead theme, so I've got three friendly little chubby Catrinas sitting in a tree that produces adorable sugar skull fruits for the pets of Pet Society to eat. :D

I've really only recently in the past two or three years really gotten comfortable with my artwork (that place where you're still hyper-critical of yourself but know well-enough that sometimes it's time to sign your name and be done with it). I thought I'd share some of my earliest fanart from high school along with a lot of unfinished newer artworks and sketches that I haven't posted before.

I hope you enjoy my little trip down memory lane. :D

Warning, there might be a few not-quite-safe-for-work images under the cut. There's no danglies, but there's some risque stuff.

So, Fender has been thinking a lot about what it means to be a Slayer for the past few days, and I realized that the only way I could suss things out is to do things my way- i.e. make up a hypothetical type of ficlet and draw a comic... and this is what happened...

Word of warning: Don't hate me because I make my own fun. I love you guys. :D

I did some fanart of Brian Lynch's characters from his comic strip The Most (found here on his blog). Here's the British versions of Wetsuit Andy, Oblate, and Block Party featured in this particular strip.

I promised Brian Lynch some fanart of his character Westerberg (from "Everybody's Dead") making a cake... a zombie cake, so here it is! :D

*sniffle* They grow up so fast. One day they're running around in exercise slippers and making out with other boys to start fights, and the next they're rocking hot jeans and making out with other boys for act0ry moneys. Makes you so proud! :D

Title: Kingyo-Sukui.
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] fenderlove
Rating: G
Summary: Since Jeanty sorta got an art piece from me, I thought I whip up something for Brian Lynch. Kingyo-sukui is Japanese for goldfish scooping, which is an activity at many fairs and festivals where children can catch goldfish to keep as pets. I got the idea in my head of Spike, Beck, and Betta George go to visit Tok in Japan, and they all get dressed up in fancy kimonos to go to a summer festival. I imagined that Tok's little sister Kaori might try her hand at kingyo-sukui, but that would probably make George a little sad, so they decide to let the little fish free in a pond... and then it turns out that what they thought was a plain old goldfish was actually a sparkly teeny baby Splendeen demon! I'm calling him Betta Kin.
I'm totally writing fic to go with this... and just to note, this is the first time I've drawn Spike in a men's kimono. Normally I draw him in a furisode. XD

Title: Cirque du Slay.
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] fenderlove
Rating: G
Summary: SlayAlive Forums is having a fanart contest that is being judged by BtVS Season Eight artist Georges Jeanty. They also gave posters a chance to vote for their favourite out of the twenty-two entries (which is why I had to wait to post this since I couldn't reveal that it was mine at the time), and mine got the most votes! They haven't announced which entries Jeanty has picked to win the main competition though.
Anyway, this is my entry- the Buffyverse as the crazy circus that it is. The main purpose of the contest was to draw the "essence" of the characters, so I hope that I captured that in a metaphorical kind of way.
