Happy Birthday to my birthday buddy, shipperx! :D

Thank you for the birthday wishes and virtual gifts, everyone! Even though it's a rainy, blustery day, I am having a fairly good time. One of my professors gave me a ton of books for my thesis work, and (joy of all joys!) he gave me a gorgeous, black-bound two volume set of the complete works of the Marquis de Sade. He said, "I don't think a girl like you would like these." I said, "I love all books, especially those of authors writing under oppression, so I'll take them as an example of free speech." Secretly, I was thinking, "GIMME!" XD I'm so weird, I know. I felt kinda awkward carrying two enormous books of pure 18th century pornography, but they are going to look so awesome on my bookshelf. They are also going to keep me inspired while writing the finishing touches on the sequel to Versailles Undone... if I can ever finish posting my WIP fanfics. *falls over*

Had a good birthday. Got decidedly giddy at Sir Pizza because their calzones have gotten even better! Best. calzone. ever. Plus, they serve soda in giant Mason jars with Sonic-type ice. Sooooo good.

Today, Sarah wanted to do a photoshoot with me. I wore a corset for the first time in several years and got all Steampunky with some fun costume stuff that we cobbled together from bits and bobs scattered about. The photos still need to be edited but I might post a few on here.

Tomorrow I'm going to go silkscreening with Tara.

I realize now just how much I miss being in college and being able to do stuff like this, art projects and the like, not to mention distance not being an issue to see my friends. The only downside to this trip would be that the elementary and middle schools actually picked the week I was out of town to start calling me to substitute teach again. However, I know that, because Fate generally chooses to eff with me, if I had stayed home, they wouldn't have called. Plus, I think my mother is enjoying me being away from her for a few days. XD

I think we're going to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part One at the big honkin' IMAX theatre. We've got an inside contact who's going to get us in first. XD

I'm twenty-five! I've lived a quarter-of-a-century! :D And you know, even though it premiered on the 14th, I've always considered Fool for Love to be my most special birthday present. :D

Going to Sir Pizza tonight (it's a medieval-themed pizza place that serves soda in big Mason jars). XD

*sniffle* They grow up so fast. One day they're running around in exercise slippers and making out with other boys to start fights, and the next they're rocking hot jeans and making out with other boys for act0ry moneys. Makes you so proud! :D
