Title: Kingyo-Sukui.

Summary: Since Jeanty sorta got an art piece from me, I thought I whip up something for Brian Lynch. Kingyo-sukui is Japanese for goldfish scooping, which is an activity at many fairs and festivals where children can catch goldfish to keep as pets. I got the idea in my head of Spike, Beck, and Betta George go to visit Tok in Japan, and they all get dressed up in fancy kimonos to go to a summer festival. I imagined that Tok's little sister Kaori might try her hand at kingyo-sukui, but that would probably make George a little sad, so they decide to let the little fish free in a pond... and then it turns out that what they thought was a plain old goldfish was actually a sparkly teeny baby Splendeen demon! I'm calling him Betta Kin.
I'm totally writing fic to go with this... and just to note, this is the first time I've drawn Spike in a men's kimono. Normally I draw him in a furisode. XD

I love this so much! The expression on Spike's face, the details on the fabrics, the textures...just stunning!

(but I want to know whether Spike's still wearing his Docs *g*)

Thank you so much!

And yes, he's still wearing his Docs. I doubt you could get him into geta without him falling on his face. XD

Oh I love this! I'm assuming that Tok is the older female.

Also have I mentioned how gorgeous this picture is!?!?!

Thank you so much! I was pretty proud of this one, but I set the bar a little too high and now I'm having trouble getting back in the swing of doing art. I do have some new stuff for the holidays coming up though. :D

Yes, Tok is the older one with the pigtails. Kaori is in the middle, and Beck (from Spike: Asylum, Spike: Shadow Puppets, and now Spike: the Series) is sitting on the rock. And Betta George (also from S: A, S: SP, S: ts as well as Angel: After the Fall and Spike: ATF) is the big blue/purple floatie fish behind Spike. :D

I had to translate Tok's look from how she appears in the comics to a more realistic appearance, so here's how she looks in the comics:
