fenderlove: James Marsters with Romeo and Juliet quote over it. (Default)

Well, I took it, and it's done now. My unofficial score (that only includes the verbal and the quantitative and not the analytical writing analysis or the quantitative section that involves the little computer calculator) is 1090, which was much less than my practice test scores, so... I'm a little sad, but at least I broke 1000. I know that standardized tests aren't really accurate measures of intelligence or potential, but I feel sort of defeated. I'll probably have to retake it if I make it to doctoral candidacy because I've heard you have to have a 1200 in some schools for that, but that's years away. Next step is to actually find a Masters program that will have me... Heh, I almost wrote "Marsters program." Now that's something I wouldn't mind studying for!

Title: Kingyo-Sukui.
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] fenderlove
Rating: G
Summary: Since Jeanty sorta got an art piece from me, I thought I whip up something for Brian Lynch. Kingyo-sukui is Japanese for goldfish scooping, which is an activity at many fairs and festivals where children can catch goldfish to keep as pets. I got the idea in my head of Spike, Beck, and Betta George go to visit Tok in Japan, and they all get dressed up in fancy kimonos to go to a summer festival. I imagined that Tok's little sister Kaori might try her hand at kingyo-sukui, but that would probably make George a little sad, so they decide to let the little fish free in a pond... and then it turns out that what they thought was a plain old goldfish was actually a sparkly teeny baby Splendeen demon! I'm calling him Betta Kin.
I'm totally writing fic to go with this... and just to note, this is the first time I've drawn Spike in a men's kimono. Normally I draw him in a furisode. XD
