God, I am up at this unholy hour... *falls over* Didn't get much sleep last night because I worried about sleeping through my alarm, but I am awake and wearing clothes and not-yet-in-make-up... I've got about an hour and a half before I have to leave for class, so I'm trying not to panic. My Historian's Craft and French classes are today, and I'm looking forward to them. I haven't taken French since high school, but when I visited Paris a few years ago I did all right speaking it... just not understanding it. XD The Graduate Studies department here doesn't recognize my 3+ years of Japanese classes as a foreign language requirement, so I have to start all over from scratch.

Also, I just realized that I haven't been assigned a new academic advisor. They still list my Undergraduate advisor who has since retired. That does me no good, so new advisor time!

... And I'm not really looking forward to the nightmare that will be the bookstore this afternoon, but since my classes let out sorta early maybe it won't be too bad.
I can't get on the internets much because I am borrowing Ta-ra-ra's internet and computer for the time being, and I feel so behind! The interview went well the other day, and I should hear something definitive back from the Center next week. The Director of the Center is actually looking into some points of historical interest near my hometown and he really seemed to take note of my computer/design skills, so that might give me an edge over the other applicants. *crosses fingers*

I saw Fright Night yesterday, and I spent the whole time feeling like I was watching someone's really poor attempt to make a Buffy episode... and then the end credits rolled, and I realized why...

Cut for possible movie spoilers. )

Classes start in a few days, and I'm nervous. I already have the assignment that I'll be working on all semester for one class, and I'm having some problems with it. Maybe things will turn around.

Okay, I got moved into my temporary living situation with Sarah and Tara on Saturday. Everything's squared away and fine in that regard. I'm sleepin' on the couch until the futon arrives, but all is okay. I've got my job interview tomorrow afternoon, so I want to get up bright and early so that I can be awake enough to do my nails and make-up. My interview is very nearby the apartment, so I won't have to be stressed about finding it.

The only hang-up I'm currently having is that I still have the fear about my financial aid. My account at university looks a little wonky, so I probably need to call tomorrow to check on it at the business office.

Classes start on the 29th, and if all hell goes wrong, I'll have to withdraw from classes before the 26th. If all goes according to plan, my schedule is the Historian's Craft and French I on Monday/Wednesday/Friday and Britain and the Empire in the 1800s and Napoleonic France on Tuesday/Thursday.

I feel so out of the Livejournal loop! Has any kerfluffle happened? Anything hilarious? What about the tragically ludicrous or the ludicrously tragic?

It's been a rough couple of days, and I am being emo.

Sigh... )

MWF:
10:20AM-11:15AM: Astronomy.

MW:
2:20PM-3:45PM: Northern Renaissance Art.
6PM-9PM: Painting I.

T/Th:
8AM-11:05AM: Beginning Illustration.
11:20AM-2:25PM: Letterpress II
2:40PM-5:45PM: Portfolio I (HOPEFULLY!!!)

Unknown day and time: Independent Art Study (which I have planned to be a study of Art Nouveau Architecture, Decorative Arts, and Lithography).

21 hours again. Gah. I'm still not feeling any better than I did this afternoon. I've gotta get up in five hours to study more for my Art Survey I test in the morning. Kelker put things on the study guide that were from the last test and stuff that we haven't even covered yet. I don't know what to think about that. Also, I found a mistake on the study guide... maybe I should tell her and try and get some extra points.

Here's the low-down about my classes for the semester:

Art Survery I with Dr. Kelker: I take back what I said previously about Dr. Kelker. She is pretty awesome... well awesomely snarky to the idiots in my class. Hehe. I answered one her questions after getting tired of the bombardment of stupid answers she got and quite enjoyed the thrust of her fist in the air of triumph as I answered correctly as if to say to the gods "Finally!" I talked to her about the novel I am working on, and she gave me some great resources for the artwork I was looking for. I enjoy her.

US History II with Dr. Napier: I had Dr. Napier for US History I last semester, so it's pretty much the same. This man is extremely intelligent, and I really enjoy his class. Plus, this is the class that has the impossibly gorgeous beautiful gay boy with the flowy hair and the man-purse.

Digital Illustration with Dr. Buxkamper: It's hard to tell about this class yet. I hope that it will be good. For now, Barry is having to address the people in the class who are unfamiliar with Illustrator first so the first few classes have been very boring, but learning to use the stylus and tablet is a very fun thing.

Word and Image with Dr. Buxkamper: Yep, it's Barry again. This is my big class for the semester. This is the class that will hopefully ensure me getting into Upper Division. We're currently working on our first project which is designing an identity kit for an unexpected client. I think I'm either going with Sherlock Holmes or Spike! Haha!

Intro to Computer Art with Dr. Ashworth: This is an extremely boring class thus far, even though I really like Dr. Ashworth. It's mostly boring because Dr. Ashworth keeps sending me home because I've finished the first project already, and there's not enough computers for everyone in the class hence why I get asked to go home to work. I'm fine with that. I was done the first day of class with the project. I hope it continues. Haha! ^_~ Although, I look forward to the animation and movie project we will be doing later in the semester.

Other than classes, I'm really happy that things have calmed down and the storms are subsiding with the sorority. It's a wonderful thing that I might finally get some work done that might propel the sorority forward. Yay for us.
