... Yeah. Weird day thus far.

I've got to post my [livejournal.com profile] rekindlespangel fic tonight when I get back from my classes. I had hoped to do it this morning, but I forgot that I had to go sit around a Starbucks for an hour to do my weekly "office" hours for the students... And since the students technically haven't had an actual class yet, no one showed up, of course. :D
My first review/watch notes for my chronological viewing of Star Trek begins January 1st, and to get in the spirit, I made a banner for the first episode- ST: Enterprise "Broken Bow," part 1 and 2.

Full-sized under the cut. )
It is a complete travesty that I cannot find a purchasable (or at least reasonably priced) Star Trek comm badge in the 29th century style. I may have to find a way to make my own. You see, both of my New Year's resolutions have to do with Star Trek.

1. I want to lose enough weight to look decent in a Starfleet uniform, so that I can cosplay as my 29th century Wells Class captain character. This also means losing enough weight and finding someone who can make the uniform in time for Dragon*Con 2012. O_o;;; Must. get. to. the. gym. Stat!

2. On January 1st, I am going to begin watching all of Star Trek chronologically, meaning that I'm starting with Enterprise and working my way through the canon timeline (including all series, movies, and the animated series... but not including the 2009 film). I will also be blogging my progress through the episodes. I've only seen some of the original Star Trek series and Deep Space 9, so I'm going to be learning as I go about this fandom that has most recently sparked my interest.
This is a comic I did for my French class. Spock and Kirk have some drinks aboard the Enterprise. :D

I'm the first to admit that I'm a huge sci-fi nerd... but I don't like "space stuff." While I like the original Star Trek and Star Wars, I'm much more interested in shows like Caprica that are about other planets but are more-or-less grounded in one spot. During this first half of the semester, I found a "space"-related show that I liked! I got hooked on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. In fact, I got so obsessed with it that I created my own starship and crew.

And, of course, one of my characters looks like James Marsters. XD
