This is a rant.
Superstar USA is the most horrid, degrading show I have ever seen. I'm ashamed of myself for watching the finale. That poor little blonde didn't have enough sense to really figure out what happened to her, that she had just been humilated for the past few months in front of America. The look on her face as she listened and watched herself in previous episodes really told you that she had never heard herself before. She realized something was wrong. I hope that the audiences, whatshisface that used to be on MTV, and especially those judges feel really proud of themselves for probably emotionally scarring those young people; not only the contestants who competed, but those really talented people that had their hopes and confidences smashed because they only wanted "bad" singers. It makes me sick. The psychological damage caused by Superstar USA is revolting. I think the audience tonight felt uncomfortable as that girl was told she was a bad singer. Sure, they tried to soften the blow by giving them money, and telling them about being a superstar is more than a good singing voice. It won't help matters when they realize how degraded they all have been. I hope they won't repeat this show next season. It's disgusting.

I really hate that crap. I don't understand how people can actually enjoy that show - and I know there are some that do.

I guess it's funny at first thinking, "How dumb are these people to really believe that they could think that they are good singers?", but then, actually watching the show, these kids probably are thinking really "Maybe I have something the judges are looking for even if I'm not the best singer." All that hope and work for nothing, to be crushed in an instant. They let that poor girl who won stand there for so long believing that she was a good singer, basking that she indeed was a SUPERSTAR... before snatching it all away. My heart aches for them. Well, to me, those kids are superstars because they had the courage to stand up there and try their best. Those are the kind of people that make music great because they give it their all even if it isn't the "best" in the world.
