I finished my chair... Then, it fucking broke to pieces. Two full weeks worth of work. Two weeks of work while neglecting other classes just to fucking please this professor who obviously never liked my ideas about art from the start of term. Fuck, fuck, fuck! How in God's name am I going to rebuild two weeks worth of work in less than 9 hours? I'm about ready to rip my hair out.

First off, I'm very sorry. I once did a glorious project all in fine porcelain, tiny detailing for a college art course. When I got to school the next day and was placing it on my desk, I midjudged and it shattered all over the floor.

Tell your teacher is a da-da-ist chair :)

Heh, thank you. I wish I could. He hates all things stylistic (how can an artist not make something somewhat stylistic, I ask anyone!). He wants us to concentrate on making a chair that can be sat on by the artist for three hours without breaking... which this chair isn't going to last that long. It's an hour and a half later and I managed to be at the same place I was earlier tonight. I've just got to rebuild the seat and the bracings, which in theory shouldn't take that long, but I doubt I'll be able to sit on this stupid thing.

Oh gods, how miserable for you, dear. This prof sounds like one of mine. What is it about art professors? I think they're determined to drive us all insane. I take it this is a design class? I swear I've seen that project in a catalgue from RIT. Keep us posted on your progress. *virtual kicks in the rear for nasty professors*

Thank you. The chair was finished at 4:37 this morning. I made a more detailed post about it on my LJ's mainpage. Apparently, a lot of colleges and schools make use of this project, but all the student examples suck. My professor doesn't believe women can be artists. He's 24 frickin' years old just out of college (he's not really a professor, but he gets to call himself one cause he works here)! He should be more open-minded. His wife is an artist, for Christ's sake! I ought to find out her email address and tell her how he's treated the other women in class and me. I hope she'd give him an earful.
