The quote above was overheard at my voting precinct today. It was the last day for early voting, so I thought I'd miss the crowds that will be there on the 2nd. An elderly fellow was espousing to all that would listen in the front office about how college/university professors are "agents of Satan" who infect "good Christian children" with "the gay" and how education both public and private should be abolished in this country... which I think speaks volumes about the state of affairs in my town by the number of people milling about who were agreeing with him (though I hope that they were secretly only trying to placate him to get him to leave and stop causing such a commotion). His statement actually made me giggle, and I want a "'Liberal' Arts, Totally On-Purpose" t-shirt. XD
It feels good to vote. I was thwarted from voting in 2004 (my district refused to send an absentee ballot to me in New York despite repeated begging from the NY precinct on my behalf) and in 2008 (this voting precinct told me that I wasn't allowed to vote because my voter registration had expired and it was too late to re-register; I learned this year that it hadn't actually expired and have received no explanation as to why I was denied in '08).
I was actually so excited about voting today that I had a political dream last night... It involved James Marsters and Sarah Palin... Oh, God...
In my dream, I was running for President, and James was my running mate (because he's always a bridesmaid never a bride). We were the very first people running on the "Liberal Nerd" ticket. Sarah Palin and Christine O'Donnell were also running that same election year. Let's just say it ended with an epic lightsabre duel... and James was pretty much the only one left standing. Long live President Marsters. XD
This gives me a good excuse to to pull out my Marsters/Himber 2012 t-shirt from last year's Dragon*Con.

ETA: Fixed the size of the pic to not be so ginormous. XD
