I'm taking the GRE on Wednesday. I'm nervous because I have horrendous test anxiety. I've been this way since I was a little kid having to take those god-awful TCAP whatever-they-are-called-in-other-states tests in grade school. Also, the only way I could take the test (besides waiting until October) was to agree to a computer-based test, and I'm freaking out that my eyes will glaze over or that they'll want me to use the dinky calculator on the computer instead of a real T-83 graphing calculator. *frets*

I'm trying to take things one at a time since I decided to go back to school to get my Masters followed by a PhD. I can't even download a bloody application for any graduate school until they update them in September (not to mention the fact that only one state that neighbours mine offers a PhD program in Art History). GRE first, applications later. I'm going to take a few practice tests tomorrow to get ready.

Bach flower rescue remedy.
Got me through all my Masters degree exams. Spray form, two pumps under the tongue and somehow everything is good again.
(either that or St John's Wort tea)

It's not as bad as you fear. I went into it terrified of the math portion, since I'm a literal arts geek. Turn of the negative tape recording in your head lest it become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Half of life is showing up at the right time in the right place with the right attitude. Go you!

There's no need for (or permission to use) any kind of calculator on the GRE. So... not sure if that helps or not, but 'strue.

You can do it! Just channel your anxieties into good preparation. I know how you feel about test anxiety. But if you prepare well, you will know the material and do fine, I have confidence in you!
