I went to go see TPATF today, and I loved it. Absolutely and completely. The animation made my heart soar after years of waiting for something even remotely close to how wonderful this movie was. Some of the movements of the characters seemed a bit quick (can something be too fluid?), but I don't think it deterred from the movie as a whole. From the commercials I thought that Raymond the Firefly was going to be annoying, but he turned out to be quite endearing. Also, I am Lotte. XD
Dear Disney,
Now that you've seen the light and begun to rebuild your animation team, I have one request of you. Please contact Mr. Steve Himber. I need James Marsters to voice a Disney prince before I die. Please, please, please! I swear on the cryogenically-frozen head of Walt Disney, I'd give my left hand for the merchandise alone!
Love,
Fender

I would love for James to be in a Disney film! Disney is one of the few fandoms he hasn't broken into yet. So, Disney and Star Trek. That's all we need! :D

As an official Cartoon College student, can I ask which movements on which characters? Disney animation is shot entirely on 1s and 2s, which is usually a great balance for good timing, but there is some odd animation in the movie (parts where its obviously done by interns, the biggest being Tiana's friends in the cafe at the beginning) but I didn't notice any severe timing issues, except where it was intentional (Charlotte, for example). i've seen it like... 8? times now so I've got it fairly memorized, if you can tell me which part I can give my thoughts on it!
Also glad to hear you liked it, I'm really praying for it to do well... also, I have to feel a sense of pride behind it since so many people from my school, alum and teachers alike, worked on it.

I loved how the lip movements for some of the characters actually matched the accent coming out of them instead of being just voice-layered-on-screen. Lawrence in disguise as Naveen really exemplifies this because you can really see the difference between him and when Naveen is himself. The shadow creatures were so excellent, and Dr. Facilier was just plain creepy (I think he would have been the most fun to animate). And I adore Charlotte because she goes against a stereotype by being spoiled but kind and caring. I definitely give the movie an A+.

Aaah yes, I thought the lips/mouths were great... a big favorite of mine was Mama Odie, but that's just Andreas Deja for you... he's a legend! I'm so excited, apparently both Deja and Glen Keane are coming to do guest lectures next semester... ohhohoho!!! I will be in the presence of greats!
speaking of animating big characters, my film character is a big guy... I should be practicing instead of loafing around in bed all break.
