I'm thinking about purchasing Manga Studio Debut 4 to see if it makes the comic process a bit easier. Has anyone ever used it? The guys over at EclecticMicks rave about how wonderful the professional EX version of it is, but I wondering if the cheaper Debut version is any good?

What's nice about Deleter is that they have some pretty standard tones, built-in rulers, layer system and so on. If you're looking for basics, it's pretty useful. Also it's nice that it responds well to tablets.
Manga Studio is good as well, has the same built-in rules and layer system. I personally though have been enjoying it a little bit more.
Moreso that's because I think it boils down to the layer system with me. With Deleter, their layer system can easily get things confused. You can accidentally put something on your original or on an unintended layer by accident. -Also layer tones come out differently on the computer than they do on the printout. (This is where it's nice to have a lazer printer, but I can't afford it - probably would still have printing issues) With Manga Studio, it keeps ALL tone layers SEPERATE. If you mark it up with black or white pen, and it's too far back to correct, oh well. But I feel like I can keep track of what I'm doing easier. Plus you can click on that specific layer and if you do everything correctly, I believe you can change the tones even.
The only thing is though is that you will have to make your own wordballoons, and I'm lazy when it comes to that. So in that case and my methods, I bounce between photoshop for inking, comicworks for toning, and illustrator for final touches like word balloons and text, depending. Plus with my experience, I feel like Manga studio is more streamline than Deleter, though I like some of Deleter's tones....I think those may be donwloadable somewhere as add-ons for Manga Studio as well.
I only have Debut, btw, but how I use it, it's plenty.
