This is my poster design for the Shannon Street Blues and Heritage Festival commemorative poster competition. I hope I win! :D My mom actually likes this poster (SHOCK!), but she's worried that the judges won't "get" it. XD

Thanks! I think mom is worried that they won't see the humour in the cow playing the double bass. XD The lady with the steel guitar is based off Memphis Minnie (she sang the song Hoodoo Lady). She's one of my favourite jazz/blues musicians. :D

Fun fact: When I did the Delta Blues project for Word and Image for Barry (I'm not sure if you had to do that one), I had a cow in that poster as well... only it was on the roof of a shack in the middle of a flood ala Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou? XD

I love it! The trumpet player is especially cool; he gives off a bit of a Beatles Yellow Submarine feel. And the cow is adorable. :D
