Title: Christos Anesti!/Alithos Anesti!
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] fenderlove
Medium: Drawing and colouring in Photoshop CS3.
Rating: Totally Worksafe.
Summary: In my comic London Calling, my OC Ursula is Eastern Orthodox, so with Pascha (Easter in the Greek Church) being tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to do a piece with some Paschal themes. Spike (who is very brunette and sheeple-headed) is holding a tsoureki (Easter bread) with a kokina avga (red egg) on top. Ursula is also holding some kokina avga. They are wearing my own version of Greek wedding stefana (floral wreaths) with Easter lilies.

Thank you very much! :D I had a lot of fun with this one. James is always a joy to draw (not always a joy to colour though). LOL. ;-)

Seriously, till today the Dresden art was my favorite art from you but now, this is challenge, it's incredible. Love how you did his face and Ursula is very pretty :). I have new desktop :D:D. Thank you.

Aww, yay! :D I'm really that you like it so much. I'm pretty proud of it, and I feel like I learned a lot from doing it.

I might post some "detail" shots later because the original size of this piece is about two-and-a-half times bigger than this one. XD

I hope you'll still working on the comics because I want to read the part with these images :-).

Yay, I am all for see the details \o/.

I need to get back to work on the comic. I got sidetracked with graduating from university and now looking for a job, but I really want to finish it (and not just because James made me promise to finish it and give the complete version to him at Dragon*Con). :-)

This particular scene doesn't occur, but it might in the sequel! I'm all for Spike letting his hair go natural, fluffy and cute. I think it might be worrisome for a vampire to go into a Greek Church... or any church for that matter. XD

Oh, you have to keep a promise \o/. Nope, I am not forcing you to finish it :D.

Good luck with finding new job! It shouldn't be a problem for you when I look at your art :).

I am going to get back to work on it. Don't worry! :D I have to finish it or else I can never do the prequel and sequel comics that I want to do. XD

O_o that's incredible O_o. You can draw James's face through details, amazing!

Thanks again! :D A lot of the work in the likeness comes from the colouring. Here's the cleaned up ( but still somewhat messy) linework that I did before I started "painting":

I generally only really clean up the faces 'cause I don't want a lot of weird lines getting everywhere. XD

The thing is I am not even able to draw the sketch so my admiration starts here :D. The rest of it is little miracle for me, the coloring is amazing and the same goes for the sketch. I tried once to convert image to painting in Photoshop and... well it ended badly :D, so I am enjoying works of others :D.

If you'd like some tutorials, I could send you some. They are good if you want to learn how to paint in Photoshop. :D
I learned in high school how to draw James's face by printing out pictures of his face at various angles and drawing on top of them with a big marker, mapping out all the "zones" of his face. It really helped me to see his face as a bunch of little areas than trying to draw everything at once. *hugs*

It would be fantastic; at least I can take a look on them. Although I am not sure that they will help to improve my skills, or better lack of my artistic skills :D.

Drawing over Jameses face... hmmm :D:D
