I've started on Alli to try and lose weight (with diet and exercise, of course). My goal is to lose about 80 lbs. by August. I got kind of discouraged after I managed to lose 20 lbs. back in the summer, and I wound up gaining it back right after Dragon*Con. Has anyone on my F-list have any experience with the Alli program? Any words of advice about to expect from it? My mom knows two ladies from her work who used it, and they've already warned me that it can make you very sick if you don't follow their instructions.

I just have to take the Alli pill at every meal and then a multi-vitamin before I go to sleep. *crosses fingers* Here's hopin' that I get real' sexy before Dragon*Con 2009. XD

I don't take Alli, but some things I found that help me trying to lose my 30 I can happily share. I'm still working on it since my job layoff made me feel bad about myself and regain it while I was on a roll. So the mantra is "Be kind to yourself in 09"

Basically it means finding your center balance. So just be sure to listen to your body and what it's asking for, don't deny cravings, but sometimes the "chocolate" craving is really a "I want protein/meat" craving. And be sure to take lots of relaxing baths after you work out, too! Like treat yourself to fizzies, bubbles and salts, plus the scrubs, and just focus on how good it feels to be soaking in a tub after exercise, which will help make it more pleasurable.

Hope it helps?

i've heard that you have to be careful about eating things with too much fat because it's going to make your crapping terrible and unpredictable!!

80lbs that fast really isn't healthy savanna. and you will probably gain it all back again. i don't think it's worth it.

My doctor said that around ten pounds a month wasn't out of the question. When I've dieted before, I usually lose about twenty to thirty pounds in the first two months, but I always gain it back as soon as the new semester starts, which is why I'm hoping that being out of school for good will allow me to be more careful about what I'm eating. I'm just supposed to make sure that I'm eating properly and taking a multi-vitamin (which I am). I'm determined to try at least. ^_~
