* The classic comic art was terrific. What a wonderful idea. I loved how much Spike looked like Nightwing... which is perfect because Spike is Nightwing to Angel's Batman. Connor looked like Aqualad... or Kelso from That 70s Show. XD It really makes perfect sense to use the art style because the comics of the 40s-60s were probably the only ones Angel's seen. Buy war bonds!
* Spike-dragon for the win!
* It's the magical mystical AMENDS SNOW (not really)! Hell has officially started to freeze over.
* You know, I've heard several complaints about Groo/Spider/the lady assassins being in the background of the panels and not doing anything, but seriously would you rather just see blank wall? If they did that, people would complain that the panels weren't active enough. They're not hogging dialogue; they're just there, they're not leaving, just let them alone. You don't hear people reading the X-Men battle sequences and saying, "Oh, look at Spyke. I wish they'd write him out 'cause he's just there, not doing anything. He's taking up too much space in the background there. I think someone more important should drawn in his place." /rant
* Brian's Lorne dialogue is great. But "Spikettes" is my word, Brian! MINE! I invented it, and it's in MY comic, and I'm totally going to sue you! ... I'm just kidding, Brian; you know I love you... but you still totally stole my word.
* FINALLY. Spike admits that there has been nothing between him and Spider, that he knows she feels for him and while he cares about what happens to her it is in a friend capacity. He's very gentlemanly and candid about it really, moreso than I expected. Also, it was very kind of him to worry about beheading her. This Spike is my Spike.
* Wesley was worried about Spike's feelings towards Fred/Illyria. I kinda feel like Spike feels, perhaps, regret that there is nothing more between them. Poor Wesley; he's more a pet to Illyria than Spike.
* Poor George! Oh, how could you attack something that adorable!? Hit the vamp first not the adorable floaty betta fish! Dumb slayers. *kicks them*
* So Illyria knows what Slayers are. I thought they were after her time.
* Angel's dialogue in this issue is much better than the last. "Bad cop/bad cop/bad cop/bad cop/crazy primordial seriously bad cop..."
* Ah, and the artwork was doing better too until page thirteen. What happened to Connor's face?
* And leave it to Illyria to drop the bombshell that Angel isn't a vampire anymore without the slightest bit of tact. Poor Connor though, not wanting to see his now human father bite the dust... though he can't actually be dusted anymore.
* "You are inept at social interactions." *gigglesnort* Oh, Illyria, you make me laugh.
* God, Brian is totally breaking my heart with George. I can't take him being used like that.
* BEEEEEEEECK! It's BECK! And Anna! They're canon! OMG!
* Weirdness. So to the rest of the world L.A. appears fine? Leave it to a car chase down the L.A. freeway to make Hollywood appear normal. LOL.
* Gasp! The Angel/Gunn stand-off is here! And we all know it's going to be brutal.
Great great great issue! A few hiccups in the pacing here and there, some off artwork, but much improved over #9! I can't wait to see the rest and Spike: ATF!
