Weirdness.

I happened to fall on the Country Music Channel while channel-surfing today and was quite disturbed to find Toby Keith's new music video for his song "Too Little Too Late." It's a rather light-hearted song. However, the video shows Toby kidnapping his wife, tying her up in the basement, several visual set-ups to fool the viewer into thinking he is going to bash her head in with a shovel, and finally is revealed that his plan was to brick her up in the basement so that she starves to death. However, all is supposedly well because Toby accidentally bricks himself up, and the wife manages to free herself and leaves his ass down in the basement while he fumbles for apologies (one of which is "You know my temper, baby." followed by nervous laughter). Yeah, if Eminem drowns his wife and kills himself by driving off a bridge in a video, it's terrible and misogynistic. However, if a country music artist does it, it's light-hearted fun. I hate people sometimes.
