Spike is a devoted fella, that's certain. However, when he's not really being shown as being necessary, wanted, or needed (outside of himself believing that he is necessary, wanted, and needed), I would like to see him move forward with his unlife and get some fulfillment... in whatever way he discovers- liberating a bunch of demon asylum inmates while continuing to help them reacclimate to society, opening up an inappropriately-named liquor store, getting into art therapy, fighting demonic alpacas, finding new friends of his own elsewhere in the world... There's a ton of possibilities that wouldn't require him to be second-fiddle in his own life.
