I saw an old friend at Hobby Lobby today... I won't mention her name because she has an LJ, although I'm sure she doesn't know that I have one. She's been my friend since like when I was 8 years old (3rd grade). We had a great friendship until I came to high school. I was a freshman, and she was a junior. Everything was fine until her senior year. She was also friends with a girl who, at first, was pleasant to me. Then my friend's friend threatened to kill me, and things got heated. My friend, even though she had shared some special things with me and had known me longer, refused to take a side (well, she took the other person's side to be truthful). I didn't talk to my friend after that. I stopped coming around her. I went to her graduation and bearly spoke two words to her, just a 'Hi!Congrats!' I was angry with her behavior, but I still missed her. She went to California to school and never even called to tell me she was leaving. I found out from her mom, who also gave me her new phone number. I called her once, and she didn't want to talk. Then my friend came home. She went to my house once to talk to me but I wasn't there, so the next day, a mutual friend and I went to her house. She came to the door, didn't want to talk, and I haven't seen her until today. That was like almost a year ago. She's broken off ties with all of her closest friends here.
Well, I talked to her for like less than ten minutes because she was with her brother and we were all shopping. She was pleasant, so much like the friend I used to know before everything changed. I realized how much I miss her. I told her about me moving to New York in August, and she seemed genuinely happy for me. I told her my new address and told her to come and see me. I hope she does. I'd like to regain my friend before I move. I don't want to leave with things unfinished and all loose-ended.
