I had heard rumors about the MONSTER HIGH dolls. Basically, they are the daughters of the most famous male movie monsters (plus the son of Medusa) and are an excuse for MATTEL to do something new with the BRATZ doll molds. I actually like the design of the dolls, and I love any attempt to introduce kids to the wonder of classic movie monsters, but... ehhhh, something about these dolls irks me. Could be the anorexia bobble-heads, could be lack of boy dolls, could be because it's a blatant attempt to cash in on monster/vampire-mania that's swept over the kid/tween market because of Twilight, could be because Scooby Doo already did the whole "daughters of male movie monsters" troupe in "Scooby Doo Goes to Ghoul School" and did it much better... I guess I can't hate these dolls too much especially because the little "vegan vampire" girl has a pet bat named Count Fabulous. XD

Scooby Doo did do it better but that was a while ago... these seem pretty cute... though the lack of boys is annoying. But they are marketed for little girls.

The little Gorgon boy is cute, but maybe they'll come out with little boy monster counterparts for the girls. I kinda hope that if they have a little boy vampire he's blonde. XD
