Bother...

Can anyone reccommend a good Internet site to buy plane tickets? Also, could anyone reccommend a specific airline? I'm looking for ways to get to my family's place for the winter holidays.

I fell down some stairs this morning. Pain... lots of pain.

Also, my mother called me last night to warn me that my father has disappeared from the area and never showed up for his court date (my mother has taken my father to court over back child-support. this court thing has been going on for like three years. he owes her like $60,000). Apparently, he was talking to his lawyer about me, telling him that he knew where I was and other things he couldn't possibly know. I left for school without telling my dad because he refused to help me with tuition like he had promised. I haven't spoken to him in about six months. I know he probably figured out that I'm in NY, but he knew other stuff that he shouldn't have known. Now, I'm terrified that he's going to come up here looking for me. I haven't been able to sleep. My mother keeps telling me that he would never hurt me, but I don't know what he's capable of. If my father doesn't show up next week for the next court date, a warrant will be issued for his arrest because (FINALLY!) the judge has had enough of his bullshit. Three years. Three fucking years of this. I'm tired; my mom's tired. I'm so sick to death of my father, and I never want to see him again.
There. That's my rant for today.

I know what it's like to have a father like that. It's wonderful when you have a restraining order agenst them and they ignore that too. I love how the police can't do anything unless you end up dead. That really pisses me off.
Anyway... I kind of know what you are going through with your father. My dad owes my mom over a million dollers, but she never took him to court becuase she knew that she was never going to get that money. Why? Because of his first child.... but that's another story.
I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. If he comes knocking, don't answer your door. Lock all the windows and keep the shades closed. Color your hair and change your name.
Can you tell I'm just SLIGHTLY paranoide? lol.

The restraining order idea is a mute one in my case. Unfortunately, there's this little loophole with the whole custody thing. Apparently, if I tell him to stay away from me, he has to because of a clause in the divorce/custody agreement. However, I am over 18; therefore the custody agreement is expired; but I am still sort of dependent on my mother's financial support, so techinically the custody agreement is still in place. I.E. I can't get a restraining order against him because he has never physically threatened me nor has he actually shown up here. Like you said, the cops won't do anything unless he attacks or kills me.
I've warned all the people in my apartment building not to let anyone they don't know in (you have to have a keycard just to enter our building or someone can let you in). Only six people live in my building, so hopefully no one will be foolish enough to let him in if he does come knocking. He's pretty easy to spot: Nascar t-shirt, Budweiser suspenders, ratty blue jean shorts, ugly-assed Confederate soldier cap, and nasty alligator skin cowboy boots.
