I found a tattoo on LOLTATZ that I really like (yeah, I get the irony of finding a likable tattoo on LOLTATZ). It's the first thing I've seen in a while that I've actually considered getting. So, my question is- does getting a tattoo on your foot hurt more than getting a tatt elsewhere? I've got very bony feet, and I'm thinking that bony areas + tattoo needles = OMG OW!1!

a tattoo is going to hurt no matter what. it does hurt more over bone but it's really not as bad as you are probably imagining. and the best part is as soon as they take the needle off the pain is gone. so if you are getting overwhelmed you can ask for a break.
i like the stripper the best. freaking adorable.

I'm too cowardly to have one but I love the toe tag one - too funny! Not sure that the novelty wouldn't wear off after a time and it is big!

The stripper is cute but do you really want a my little pony on you when you're sixty? LOL!

Maybe I could get the toe tag but get it smaller. Hmm... I've always wanted a MLP tattoo. I used to want one of Applejack (with apples on its flank) with the words "How about these apples?" underneath. LOL! :D

A tattoo on the top of your foot will be an extreme and severe pain. Mine hurt more than my wrists, ankle bone, spine and that funky nerve under your bicep. So be prepared. However, tatoo pain is only bad when it's happening, then it's just a dull ache for a couple of days.

Also, my foot swelled so large I couldn't get any shoes on. All the lymph fluid will gather in your foot, so, you'll have to keep it elevated for a couple of days to minimize that.

not all tattoos hurt that much. some hurt a lot, some barely hurt at all. it depends on the individual and his/her pain tolerance. some people can get tattoos on the tops of their feet and it will hurt like hell. others, not so bad. but what i do know is that it is not easy to get a foot tattoo. you have to keep a new tattoo out of direct water [i.e., don't soak it in a tub or shower] and covered up [no sandals or flipflops] for the first couple of weeks. wearing socks and shoes will irritate it for a few days, and most tattoos began to itch and peel as part of the healing process. from what i understand, socks and shoes make that more uncomfortable. finally, once the tattoo has healed, socks/shoes will probably constantly rub against the skin, which eans that the ink will need to be touched up more often.

since my tattoos are on my upper arms, i don't know firsthand about foot tattoos. that's just what i've heard/been told. one of my friends got tattoos on the tops of her feet, and said that they really didn't hurt that much. again, different people will experience completely different amounts of pain in different places, with tattoos. but yeah, i would think that it would hurt like hell.

well i heard it hurts more on the feet. The more tissue, the better, not that you could get me more than 5 miles near a tattoo needle ;)

My SiL tattooed his own foot, and I promise you it did indeed hurt like a mofo. He never did finish doing it either, so he's got the first four letters of Jesus in Old English across his instep. LOL. He does have some really beautiful ones on his arms, though. He says if there's a lot of fatty tissue, the hurt will be less. Daughter has a couple on her tummy, shoulder and ankle. She says the ankle one hurt most.

My cousin Mike has this huge tattoo on his ankle, and he said it nearly killed him. XD
