From Muse Entertainment:
Alien Western, a sci-fi television film about giant, vicious, alien bugs that come to earth to gorge themselves on the uranium deposits found in the ground of an Old West town, began principal photography this week in Romania starring James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Smallville) as Sam Danville, an outlaw who is about to be hanged when the aliens land. Sam leads a small group of survivors who fight the creatures.

The frightening story is written by Richard Beattie (Cold Comfort; Almost Heaven) and directed by KT Donaldson (Pursued; Anna's Storm). Muse Entertainment and Media Pro are producing the picture for the SCI FI Channel in the U.S. and Super Channel in Canada.

Cindy Sampson (Swamp Devil; A Christmas Choir) takes on the role of the nurse Abigail and the hero's love interest. Sebastian Knapp (Beyond the Rave; Sand Serpents) is Jules, the scientist who discovered the uranium mine that attracted the alien invaders. Sanny Van Heteren (The Last Word; Inside Out) plays Rose, a fast-talking, fast-shooting bounty hunter and Antony Byrne (Straightheads; Doctors) plays Gus, a fellow prisoner of Sam's who has his own designs on the uranium ore.

"Alien Western will put you in your seat and keep you there for 2 hours. Forget the days of the 'good guy getting his gal'. The real question in this film is who, or should I say what, will get the good guy? The authentic feel of the old west combined with outstanding visual effects will definitely twist any preconceived idea of the western genre," says Producer Ric Nish (Durham County; Swamp Devil).

The director of photography of this CGI-and-special-effects-laden extravaganza is Pierre Jodoin (Flood; Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde), the production designer is Guy Lalande (The Deal) and the editor is Simon Webb (Tales from the Neverending Story). Muse Entertainment's Michael Prupas (Human Trafficking) is executive producer along with Irene Litinsky (The Last Templar), RHI Entertainment's Robert Halmi, Sr. (Tin Man) and Robert Halmi, Jr (Flash Gordon). RHI Entertainment is the international distributor.

Just think of it- totally redeemable outlaw-turned-good guy with smexy stubble and leather chaps riding on his noble steed with the sweet town nurse with a heart of gold at his side as they shoot down uranium-attracted alien bugs in the Old West aka Romania. It's so romantical. *swoons*

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Outlaw Sam and Nurse Abby. At least she'll be able to fix him when he falls off his horse and damages himself.

Trying. Getting a Richard Greico career direction vibe though.

Ugh! That sounds like something that would be on the scifi channel. JM would be the only reason I watch.

It looks like campy fun to me !! Outlaw James!! The possibilities for injury are endless \0/

Not all Sci-Fi Originals are bad. The one with Kevin Sorbo was good and hilarious (on purpose hilarious not the unintentional omg-this-is-bad hilarious). I look forward to this with the optimism that I look to Dragonball- even if the special effects are bad, even if the other actors suck eggs, and even if there are more plotholes than Pirates of the Caribbean and Kate & Leopold combined, James will still outshine everything and be a glorious beacon of light through the pain. I personally hope that it's campy B-movie greatness, and then it will get shown on the Soup with Joel McHale and James can stop by the studio to do a shameless plug. XD

Oh, God, the possible injuries. *puts on a nurse outfit and shoves Nurse Abby out of the way*
Do you think that Nurse Abby and Outlaw Sam will start off as mutually interested in a secret clandestine romance in which she will secretly weep from affair as he's about to be hanged? Or will it be more one-sided with Outlaw Sam wishing to woo her, but can't seem to change his bad boy ways? I sorta hope for the first option 'cause that'd be way more interesting, less with the cliche. XD

The more cliched and cheesier the better

This stuff is better when it's so bad it's Brilliant :)

Oh, yeah, I've already got money in the pool- my guess is toe broken toes from another misadventure of trying to get up in the middle of the night for a piss.

I absolutely love Science Fiction, only it's usually done with poor ideas and scripts, hoping some special effects and gore will confuse you enough to hide plot weaknesses. So I hope, really hope this will be good, but I'm not holding my breath.
