I'm not even considering the epilogue as canon. JKR either put it there for the younger readers (this did, after all, begin as a children's book) or to stop the fanfic. BUT NOTHING CAN STOP IT--NOTHING! BWAHA!
Actually, I was ecstatic that Harry returned from the dead. So often in fantasy it's usually the cliche that the hero dies or is separated from his friends forever, somehow. I was so glad she didn't succumb to that cliche, even at the risk of making it less poignant.
Maybe Lupin and Tonks's marriage was like Lily and James's; it's war and everyone's dying, and they just rushed into it. Who knows?
