Spike: London Calling! Cover & Pages 1-3.
Here is the first installment of my Spike comic Spike: London Calling. Contained behind the LJ-cut of wonder is the front cover of the comic along with the first three pages. Thrills, chills, Clash of the Titans! Enjoy it all!

* The design on Spike's Absinthe t-shirt was drawn from a poster that is by Madame Talbot's Victorian Lowbrow. At the time this comic was made I thought that this imagery was an actual Victorian advertisement, and I want to give credit where credit is due for her beautiful artwork. This comic was made for fun only and is not being sold. It's totally not for any kind of profit. :D

Can't wait to see, where you'll take the story. Like the idea that Spike would hook up with a pregnant girl that he finds cool.

You draw Spike so beautifully of course, but your backgrounds and details are gorgeous and I love the layouts.
I particularly love pages 1& 2. I love Spike in the alley, love the graffiti and whole look of it. Love that Spike has a cardboard box with his stuff in it. It just kinda seems so right.
On page 2 I adore your smoke tendrils, they are beautiful and makes me think of that firey cover for Spike After the Fall. The last panel is gorgeous. I love your colour palette and all the weird and quirky things - the tree looks like candy floss, the merman is yummy, the floating turtle and fish are so cute - is that a baby Betta George? Is Spike hallucinating from the absinthe? ( though, to be a kill joy, science today says it's not a hallucinogenic, but it's more interesting to assume it is...)
And although I love your colours, I'm liking the black and white very much. Some of my fave comics are in black and white.
I love Ursula. I wonder what she's made for Spike. I love that she's pregnant too. This months Diva mag ( leading UK lesbian magazine) has a gorgeous front cover of a nearly naked pregnant woman with her partner and displaying her bump in all it's glory. I'm not at all maternal, but she is so beautiful and sexy.
By the way, thanks for that link to Madame Talbot's Victorian Lowbrow. What an amazing site to explore. I've fallen in love with the Mourning Skull dolls and Raven Death Mourning dolls! :o)

The cover and page 1, when you click for full size they have a little plus sign that can enlarge it even more. But unfortuneatly page 2 & 3 don't so I have to peer closely at the screen to read it. Do you have them in a higher resolution like the 1st two? Though this was a while ago and I'm sure you must be too busy to deal with this just for little old me. ;o)
