I want to move to the U.K. Does anyone need a live-in housekeeper/art instructor with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphic Design? I keep a neat house. I would only need to be paid in food... and access to the Internet... and a plane ticket...

Ever since I visited England when I was in high school, I wanted to move to the U.K. and become a citizen, and with me being out of a job and not really feeling like I fit as an American, I'd like to just get out of here and go far away. I love rainy weather, but I am not fond of how humid it was in London in July the last time I was there.

Of course, I'd like for the austerity plan stuff to get repealed or recalled (however it's done) over there before I gave up my U.S. citizenship.

Well, I'm glad you liked it here. Unfortunately, when it is hot, it's usually humid, 'cos of being a small island surrounded by ocean. On the plus side, our weather is pretty temperate.

As for the deficit reduction plan, I don't see the current government changing their minds. There is no Plan B, so we've been told. However, we do still have the National Health Service (for now), and despite what some nuttier right wing Americans believe it's actually pretty good.

The nutty ring-wing portion of America is partially why I want to leave here. I know that every country has its crazies, but at least in England it will seem classier for at least a year before I become disillusioned again.

I'm afraid with the tide America is taking that it couldn't be any worse. I already can't get healthcare, unemployment assistance, or any kind of government aid, but I want to get a fresh start somewhere new.
