Doctor Who: Costume Help!

A friend of mine is having a Doctor Who-themed party at our local British pub (the Bunganut Pig), and everyone's dressing up... but I don't know who to go as! I have a pretty limited knowledge of Doctor Who, so I thought that I'd, perhaps, go as the Fourth Doctor (I have a scarf and a fedora), but another party-goer has called him. Someone else is going as River Song, and another person is going to be Donna.

If I had the clothing (or the hair), I'd go as Rose Tyler in her pink dress from "The Idiot's Lantern" or Madame du Pompadour or Ace or Romana 2... or even Captain John.

Can anyone give me an idea for a character with a fairly simple costume? It doesn't have to be a female character. I'm brunette with shoulder-length hair, short, and a pralle prinzessin. I also wear glasses. I guess I could be Tosh, but I was hoping for someone with a little more costume-recognition. Someone name a cool character I might cobble together a costume of! :D

Sarah Jane Smith,
you'll need a sonic lipstick for character recognition and maybe a notebook and recorder since she was a journalist.
Plenty of episodes with Four and then her own adventures more recently so lots of clothing options.

Oh, yes! I have the clothes for this!

I can also curl my hair under to make it look like her Four days. I think I also have an old lipstick of my grandmother's that I could convert to be her sonic lipstick. XD

She's totally awesome and has a history with three, four, ten and eleven as well, and Jack (fanon has them interacting a lot...)

If you can find a fairly lightweight rectangular cardboard box, you could paint it to look like the blue police booth. Then you could cut a door in one side, fold the door open, and walk around with the box over you, with you facing the opened door and looking out of it while you hold a toy telephone in your hand. Furniture and appliance stores are good places to find such boxes; the staff will sometimes let you go out back of the store and get one from their dumpster area.

*g* I'm all about dressing up as objects rather than as people. If I was invited to a Gone With the Wind costume party, I'd dress as a giant match and go as The Burning of Atlanta. XD
