Mini-Review of Buffy #39.

This isn't my full review. I don't know if I'm capable of reviewing the issue with any kind of fervor, but these are just my preliminary thoughts on the matter.

... I just read a comic which gave me more squick and less substance than the film TEETH... in more ways than one. I would applaud Whedon's ability to make me feel like I will never again experience joy in my life (a feat I only though possible in the darkest, deepest corners of whatever frog mine John Carradine came from), but it would only sound hollow... like the Sarcastic Clapping Family of Southhampton.

Why do I get the feeling that Whedon has spent the last three years becoming a troll to his own fandom? Sorta like he just sent a bunch of killer weasels to slowly rip at the flesh of every fan who actually once gave a damn about either BtVS or Ats and who wanted to get some tiny shred of enjoyment from these fucking comics...

Well played, Whedon. Well played. *sarcastic clapping*

Yay, an update!!! The picture of a very pregnant Buffy, wobbling along (weebles wobble, but they don't fall down!) as she voraciously attacks her chocolate/blueberry gelato while tagging along with Spike and the slayerettes on their field trip had me snorting with absolute glee!!! I wonder how the woman that bitch slapped Glory is going to handle the 'wonders of child birth'? With the S.I.T.'s taking over the apartment leaving Spike, Angel, Buffy and Connor camping out in the hallway, does that mean no vampire sex tonight?

Ahahahahahahaha! I recognise that picture! *dies laughing*

And here's the Doctor in a Santa hat, to remind you that joy and happiness is more than possible. After all, he symbolises the triumph of intellect and romance over brute force and cynicism. :)
