Thank you for reading.

I oftentimes wonder what it would have been like if I had started watching BtVS from the very first season, if my opinions would be different. I happened to catch Season 4's Something Blue the night it aired when I was about 13 or 14 years old (I came in in the middle when Spike and Buffy are hugging "We're getting married!" and watched a repeat of the episode later in the night), and I fell in love with the show. That episode is still one of my favourites, but I wonder what would have happened if I saw a different episode. I quickly found tapes and such and got caught up on the first three seasons, but was my judgement already painted since I knew in a roundabout way what was going to happen, that Spike would be semi-good and chipped, that Xander and Anya would be together, that Willow and Oz wouldn't work out? But even now when I go back and watch S2, I still feel for Buffy, that she and Angel have a doomed relationship, but there's still a spark of wanting everything to be all right for her. It's very tragic, but after all that she and Angel have gone through over the years, I think that they have become very different people, which isn't to say that they don't care or love one another. That being said, I feel the same about Spike and Buffy. I wanted Spike to have what he wanted, but I didn't like the road the relationship went down. I realized I shouldn't be judging the different stages in Buffy's life by which man she is with, but it seemed like that was what was being written... and still is being written.
